Promises that make wonderful learnings!

Facebook has actually done a fantastic job in capturing the year gone by. So I figured instead of repeating their actions, am going to ponder on learning’s from 2014 that will translate to learning’s in 2015. I did not say promises, just learning's or perhaps mantras:
1. As public as Facebook is, I continue to maintain my passion for this social media.
2. Writing around '100 days' and more have given me a new perspective to not just writing but also the way I look at relationships. So look forward to many more!
3. Some family equations are truly forever and what make it better are the fading lines between family and friends. I am thrilled the way some friendships have grown so much over the years that they have occupied a strong position in the family circle. To ensure it’s not cluttered, it is important to choose the relationships you want to keep. For 2015, guard the heart with relationships that matter with family and friends who blend optimism, respect and honesty.
4. Relationships are complicated. While diplomacy is critical, don’t forget to stick to absolute honesty.
5. Children will drive you nuts, almost daily and on most days by the second, but when you realize time flies, we also learn that this stage is not forever. I don’t want to look back saying I wish!
6. Family vacations are fantastic but me vacations are mandatory. It cannot be a luxury it’s just a necessity, otherwise just be prepared to be faced at your worst.
7. Hospitals, Doctors and healthcare are getting glamorous, but I am still not willing to look after their expenses with my bills. So in short, do anything that will route that expense in another direction, even if it means a better healthier lifestyle… yoga, better food, extremely difficult but achievable. Aim for that run at some point.
8. Bangalore is home, no doubt, but Pune will always have my heart. Having said that dedicate one day every weekend to see Bangalore the way I have perhaps never seen before.
9. Give chances to everybody, even our politicians. While Modi has bowled India over with speeches that will put him on the best speakers lists for a lifetime, I will patiently wait for him to action on them hopefully in 2015. India is rising and now shining.
10. Having said that India will shine soon, the fear looming our kids safety with the rise in rape cases or the terror threats, brings a whole new set of questions. Who says only the cities are scary, fear looms in new directions. As we grapple with space in towns, wildlife seems to be offended by human encroachment. So Coorg faces the threat of Elephants attacking folks there. But with my belief in destiny, just because there is fear you cannot stop living. In short, live and let live, as long as you live right, it will be worth it even if your life is shortened to a night.
11. Deeply admire sensibilities that Amir Khan has brought to Indian cinema. While I am still glitzy about Shah Rukh Khan, but the messages that are so beautifully strung by Amir Khan are phenomenal. With every film of his I seem to say that it was his best film. So was a great way to conclude 2014 with PK and its sensibilities. Wake up India, see it and please take a message. Thankfully, its entertainment with a cause!
12. Little things will always hold more importance in life, like becoming a child with your kids, that uncontrollable laughter with friends, the longest chats with mum and hubby, the soul conversations with the bestie.. So don’t forget to steal these moments.
13. The help at home almost seems like the lifeline of households. In order of relationships, in the eyes of a home maker or career woman, the house help tops the list. Everyone else follows. Don’t be shocked at this statement, I am sure you all thought of it, just afraid to say it!
14. I love the resolutions on must do’s for the year that includes taking time for your favorite movies at the theaters, read that book, listen to music, watch TV, keep your fingers active with the keyboard of a computer and so much more. Its mostly screen time, but it’s a cherished me time.
15. Make a difference and take one step to change the world, even if it means through your work. Need to take that risky decision that you may have hesitated so far.
Looking forward to a ' positive, blessed, cherished and memorable 2015!
