Girls that let me be me!

It’s not simply, that people get so nostalgic about the growing up years. Well I am in the same group. Back in the days, evenings were spent with my favorite girls playing 'seven stones', hide and seek which later evolved into badminton, chit chats and lazy walks. But each game and time spent had so much innocence, pure charm, thrill, laughter even in those 'odd looking' early teen years, when nothing mattered. Our most cherished moments have been with our ever famous and tear dripping with laughter moments during Pictionary - where honest efforts were mixed up with hilarious revelations through little discreet signals that were often not very successful. Our birthdays had madness of cake smashes and birthday bumps even during the midnight surprise. How can we forget the craziness with being the 'Brides of the Miss World contingent' in Bangalore or the thrill of movies and music concerts? Thankfully we had such a lively childhood with us that we can remember with so much adoration. What made it better was that our parents were always at ease knowing we were all one gang.

With passing time, what seemed to matter the most was that we did not change. We definitely have our own busy lives professionally and personally, but taking that time out to be there for each other, encourage, share and explore, makes the strength of this friendship so valuable. We are now in different time zones but even that doesn't seem to matter. Our Singapore escape, the heartfelt conversations till 2 am, the embarrassing advise on just about 'everything', recollecting lists on past boyfriends, our willingness to laugh and be laughed at without a speck of sadness or anger, makes this friendship so easy. Our lives have new aspirations, new journeys, ventures and troubles, but these moments will always be ours and we will continue to build so many more.

After being a mom to 2 darling girls, I have noticed that any friendly conversations now with women often involves and spins around kids and kids alone. It’s definitely nice but it’s this side of life. But with you girls, my biggest high is that our conversations are about just us and not any other new extensions - whether we are married, with or without kids, entrepreneurs, professionals etc. You all, always remind me of who I am. So you my lovelies will always be in my happy days now and forever.
