The great escape
Travel often feels like the best care.
A trip with friends or that dreamy solo trip,
Where everything is in my own grip.
But the plan with the family needs proper care,
Little details are a family affair.
Options are many, finalise one place at the end,
Plan the itinerary and book to the last second.
As the days near, packing, lists, documents in tow,
Wardrobe drama for the perfect photo show.
Mixed emotions are there for sure,
But awaiting that journey here.
The airport chaos has its own charm,
Staying cool, pulling our trolley with the right arm.
The quick bite and the brewing coffee here,
Sets the mood for much in cheer.
The turbulent flights, menacing hotel or the delayed pick,
Many confusions but staying calm is the trick.
The sound of the waves, the sights of the mountain green,
The heart flutters like nothing it has seen.
The blue of the sea, the history that grips,
The mind is reminded of some iconic trips.
As we strive to blend with the vibe of the local there,
The hospitality and warmth is gripping to share.
Many cultures, lessons to be learned in time,
Every experience here is truly sublime.
We return home with a heavy heart,
Of leaving behind our feel new start.
But something does stay with us for sure,
Newer hopes, dreams, ideas and values here.
As we hope to ape some learning from our trip,
It's time to get back to the normal grip.
Back home, laundry piled, grocery to check,
Reality strikes, bills are here, time to pay in cash and cheque.
But smitten by the travel bug, hush, let's open Google soon,
The next destination in plan, it's time to swoon!
